In her programme “Baroque Music in Film”, pianist Polina Osetinskaya will perform masterpieces by Bach, Handel, Purcell and Rameau, without which it is impossible to imagine the films of the cult directors of the 20th century: Andrei Tarkovsky, Francis Ford Coppola, Lars Von Trier, Ingmar Bergman and Peter Greenaway.
Film geniuses, winners of every possible world award, used this music in their famous films: Solaris, The Godfather, Breaking the Waves, Autumn Sonata and The Draughtsman’s Contract.
Good music has become the most important medium in dramaturgy and has brought great fame to films. The audience will have a great opportunity to be transported to a new world, to appreciate how music and film combine, to discover the pianist Polina Osetinskaya and to spend Sunday with the family in an atmosphere of creativity.
