Side Events -Civil Society Workshop- UNOCT Malaga conference. High-Level International Conference on Human Rights, Civil Society and Counter-Terrorism

On 9 May 2022, in advance of the UN High-Level International Conference on Human Rights, Civil Society and Counter-Terrorism at Malaga, the Kingdom of Spain and the UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms while countering terrorism will host the Civil Society Workshop on Enhancing Civil Society Leadership & the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights in Counter-Terrorism together with a diverse, multi-regional group of civil society organization (“CSO”) representatives. The purpose of the Civil Society Workshop is to articulate joint findings and recommendations regarding the implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, particularly on the meaningful participation of civil society and the promotion and protection of human rights.
